KU will develop a cybersecurity knowledge graph to help detect malicious behavior in IT systems

On 9 August 2024 Klaipeda University and Blue Bridge MSP started the implementation of the project “Development of a Cyber Security Knowledge Graph for Behavioural Analysis" according to the signed a funding agreement with the Innovation Agency.

The project will develop an advanced cybersecurity knowledge graph that will integrate heterogeneous cybersecurity data from different sources into a holistic real-time cybersecurity context. The graph will have advanced context discovery and mapping capabilities. The structure of the knowledge graph will be adapted to model the behaviour of cybersecurity agents by incorporating event and time concepts. The project will apply innovative knowledge graph construction and behavioural analysis techniques to effectively detect malicious activity.

The results of this project will contribute to the improvement of the services of the company’s security operations centre and will enable the market to offer a product that:

  • provide a comprehensive view of the cybersecurity environment;

  • automate the detection of malicious behaviour;

  • accelerate security event analysis and threat response processes.
