GENERAL STATEMENT

By means of this privacy policy you are being informed on how University processes your personal data presented to University. Furthermore, University guarantees that your personal data is processed with accordance to the Regulation, the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on Legal Protection of Personal Data as well as the other legislation regulating the protection of personal data.

University has a right to change the rules described in this privacy policy partly or completely. Information on the changes made will be provided in University website by announcing the latest edition of updated privacy policy.

Regulation: 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EB (General Data Protection Regulation).

Personal Data is regarded to any information about a natural person who has been identified or who could be identified (data subject); a natural person who could be identified is a person who could be identified directly or indirectly, first of all, by identificator such as name and surname, ID number, location site data, and Internet identificator or according to one or several features of a natural person attributed to physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity.

Data processing is regarded to any operation or sequence of operations performed using personal data or sets of personal data by automated or non-automated means, such as collection, recording, sorting, systematisation, saving, adapting or changing, abstraction, familiarisation, usage, sharing by forwarding, distributing or, in any other way, creating a possibility to use it as well as its comparison or merging with other data, limiting, deleting or destroying of it.

PRINCIPLES OF PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING

Personal data is processed with respect to following principles:

  • Only those ways and means of personal data processing should be applied that guarantee its security. Personal data should be protected from its illegal processing as well as from its processing without the consent provided. Consequently, all of this should be implemented with the application of appropriate technical and organisational means that provide an opportunity to guarantee the security of data processing including its protection from unintentional loss, destruction or damage.

  • Personal data is stored only for a period of time that is necessary for the aims to be reached with regard to which it has been collected. In exceptional cases, when personal data is processed with the aim of archiving for the sake of public interest, scientific or historical research or statistics, data could be stored longer.

  • Personal data should be accurate and, in case of inaccuracy, it should be updated. Reasonable means, whether technical or organisational, should be taken in order to specify or delete inaccurate data.

  • The scope of personal data collected should meet the necessity with the aim to reach the goals planned.

  • The aims for personal data collection should be legal, clear, and defined.

  • Personal data concerning a subject should be processed only in a fair, legal, and transparent way.

DATA COLLECTING AND USE

Data of the following types is collected, stored, and used in the University websites:

  • Your computer data, data on your visits of this Internet website as well as on the use of this website (your IP address, geographical location, browser type, and location to which you were directed, the duration of your visit and the number of page views)

  • All the data presented to University by filling in the variety of data collection forms provided in the University websites, by sending e-mails and/or newsletters

  • Any other data sent to University voluntarily.

Personal data presented in the University websites will be used with the following aims:

  • Sending of University newsletters (with your consent received)

  • Adjusting University websites to the personal needs of users

  • Delivering statistical information about the number of visitors in University websites to the third parties (without personal information included).

University could share your data with third parties if that helps implement or administer service provision. Otherwise, University provides a data processor only with the amount of data that is necessary for a particular assignment to be implemented or a particular service to be provided.

Your data could be shared with competent authorities or law enforcement institutions as well as auditors, courts, and bailiffs on demand in accordance with legislation.

Furthermore, if necessary and with a legitimate interest, your data could be shared by University with third parties as well, including the transmission of data outside the European Union. In such data transmission cases University makes a commitment to implement the obligations identified within the Articles of BDAR 44-49.

An application to University should be submitted in written form using the contact information provided in Contact Information. University undertakes to reply to your application in 20 calendar days starting from the date when your application was received. This term could be extended for 2 months taking into account the complexity and number of applications received.

In addition, we would like to direct your attention towards the specific criteria, defined in BDAR regarding the implementation of particular rights, providing information on cases when your rights are not implemented or the conditions are provided concerning data processing for a particular right to be implemented.

If you disagree with the reply we have provided, you have a right to submit a complaint to a relevant official institution State Data Protection Inspectorate or court.
