The Council of Klaipeda University announces a public competition for the position of Rector

In accordance with the Republic of Lithuania Law on Science and Studies and the Statute of Klaipeda University, the Council of Klaipeda University (hereinafter referred to as the Council) hereby announces a public competition (hereinafter referred to as the Competition) for the position of Rector of Klaipeda University (hereinafter referred to as Rector) for a period of 5 years. The functions of the Rector are specified in the Statute of Klaipeda University.

The applicant willing to take part in the competition is to submit the following documents:

1. a declaration of good repute and disclosure of conflict of interest;
2. a copy of the identity document;
3. a copy of the document certifying higher education;
4. a copy of the document attesting to the award of the academic (arts) degree;
5. a Curriculum Vitae (in Europass format) with contact details (telephone number and email address);
6. copies of documents certifying teaching and managerial experience;
7. the applicant's vision and program of development for Klaipeda University for a period of 5 years;
8. any other documents and data that the applicant deems appropriate.

The documents shall be submitted on paper in Lithuanian, or accompanied by translations into Lithuanian certified in accordance with the procedure laid down by law. The application form (Appendix 1) and the declaration of good repute and disclosure of conflict of interest (Appendix 2) are available on the website of Klaipeda University www.ku.lt. Copies of the documents submitted for the competition shall be duly certified³.

The documents shall be accepted from 9 a.m. of 12 September 2023 to 3 p.m. of 10 November 2023 at 3 p.m. The documents may be hand-delivered to the Rector's Election Commission or sent by registered letter, which must be received before the deadline for submission. The documents shall be submitted in a sealed envelope marked 'For the election of Rector of Klaipeda University. Klaipeda University Rector's Election Commission, Personnel Department, Herkaus Manto Str. 84, LT-92294 Klaipeda'. The envelope must also state "NOT TO BE OPENED BEFORE THE ENVELOPE OPENING MEETING OF THE RECTOR'S ELECTION COMMISSION".

After the deadline for submission of applications and after the assessment of the eligibility requirements, the list of applicants shall be published on the Klaipeda University website. The final list of candidates for the position of the Rector of Klaipeda University shall be approved by the Council and published on the Klaipeda University website.
